The Lord will come and he will not delay.
They all ate as much as they wanted and they collected what was left of the scraps, seven baskets full.
We cannot grasp simply by ourselves God’s kindness and generosity. We need God’s help. St Paul taught as much when he wrote to the believers in Ephesus. He exhorted them to be rooted and established in love so that they could, by God’s power, take hold of the breadth and length, height and depth of God’s love (Ephesians 3:18). The Christian then is someone who knows God’s love personally and intimately but also for the world around them and for every living thing. Julian of Norwich, said: ‘In his love he clothes us, enfolds us and embraces us; that tender love, completely surrounds us, never to leave us.’ What a welcome we are given!
The bounty of God towards those who seek him knows no bounds, no limits, because it is infinite. We receive this love with joy.
