The Lord is my light and my help. (Psalm 26:1)
Two blind men followed him shouting: Take pity on us, Son of David.
We have many needs. No one is more needy than a newborn baby. Every baby is dependent, weak and vulnerable. Jesus was born in the same way as all human beings are born: dependent, weak and vulnerable. The humility, poverty and humanity of the crib speaks to every human heart. Jesus reaches out to us, even from the crib. As we see his needs we can come to him acknowledging our needs. To the hurting, Jesus is the great Physician. To the confused, he is the Light. To the lost he is the Way. To the hungry he is the Bread of Life. To the thirsty he is the Water of Life. To the broken and wounded, he is gentle and humble of heart. He invites us all to come to him.
Lord Jesus, you meet our every need and give us grace and strength for the burden of every day.
