Sing to our God for he is loving (Ps 141:1).
Isaiah 30:26
Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight and sunlight itself be seven times brighter.
For many people, Christmas can be a harsh, sad and difficult time. Think of the prisoners locked away in their cells, the homeless on the street, the recently bereaved, those whose relationships have broken down. Think of those who have to work over Christmas: the emergency services, those far away at sea or serving in the armed services in Afganistan or Iraq. The list could go on and on. Christmas then is a time to practise being kind. Mark Twain said: ‘Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see’. The kindnesses we remember, particularly at Christmas, are a reflection of the light of God’s love in our world. For God can use each one of us to let his kindness and love be known in so many ways.
‘The best portion of a good life, is the little nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.’
(William Wordsworth)
