He will have pity on the weak and save the lives of the poor (Ps 71:13).
1 John 4:18
In love there can be no fear, but fear is driven out by perfect love.
The Magi and the shepherds presented themselves to the Lord. The Magi brought their gifts; the shepherds their praise. They both bowed down in worship. God the Father seeks worshippers who will worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). Brother Lawrence, who cleaned pots and pans in a monastery kitchen for most of his life learnt there to practice the presence, praise and worship of God. He said: ‘We should dedicate ourselves to becoming in this life the most perfect worshippers of God we can possibly be, as we hope to be through all eternity’. Today we can present ourselves to the Lord and dedicate our lives to him in loving service.
Lord God, despite my poverty, diffidence, hurts, wounds, fear and sin, accept my offering of praise and teach me to worship you in spirit, in truth and in love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Our Father..., Ten Hail Marys …, Glory be…
